The electronics technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs network server which include mechanical and electronic components. The position applies knowledge of electrical / electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The electronics technician provides skilled electrical / electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment, including Ethernet cards, drive controller cards, power supplies, drives and test equipment.
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Knowledge and usage of these OS system are required: Linux (Ubuntu & CentOS) and Windows (8,10 & Server 2012).
Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Informs appropriate management and line personnel of potential electrical / mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
Assists and trains other maintenance and other technical-level employees.
This position has minor supervisory responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to live electrical circuits, moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at the manufacturing site which require the use of safety glasses. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud though not to the level that requires hearing protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
None to minimal travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
1. Two-year Engineering Technician degree.
2. Three to five years of proven experience in the network server field.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
3. Software editing, changing variables and modifying test sequences is desired.
