•Works with management, employees and contractors in applying occupational health, safety, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness activities in accordance to legal requirements, organization standards and procedures.
•Works regularly with regulatory agencies and external environmental and occupational safety professionals.
•Evaluates the impact of emerging issues and government regulations and other applicable requirements on company operations, conducts problem investigation and coordinates resolutions, evaluates engineering design, and performs safety analyses, ensuring appropriate selection of control measures and risk mitigation.
•Conduct inspections at EHS focus areas to ensure EHS requirements are implemented at all time.
•Performs health and safety evaluations, investigations and methodologies for continual improvement and prevention of employee injuries/illnesses and process improvements throughout the site.
•Review hazardous and non-routine activities and issues work permits if activities are found safe and compliant to EHS requirements.
•Monitor contractor activities and conduct daily tool box meetings to all contractors conducting hazardous works inside the plant.
•Conduct relevant EHS trainings and orientation to ensure employee awareness, and facilitate in the employee participation and consultation activities.
•Coordinate with vendors on the proper disposal of hazardous wastes and ensure compliance to government.
•Assist the EHS Manager in the implementation of Integrated Management System activities and Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
•Bachelor’s degree graduate (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Sanitary Engineering).
•Minimum 5 years experience in the implementation of Environment, Health and Safety programs and activities in a manufacturing set-up.
•Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, ability to resolve conflict using flexibility, adaptability, problem solving and analytical skills, and initiative and ability to perform work assignments with direction in a team environment.
•Full understanding of Philippines’ environmental, occupational health and safety related legal and other requirements.
•Knowledgeable in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 systems implementation.
•Accredited Safety Practitioner of the Department of Labor and Employment.
