WDC's System Integration Test (SIT) Lab located in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a technician to be part of a team which tests the compatibility of hard disk and solid state drives in our customers’ computer systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include configuring the drives and systems for test, executing the test, and then monitoring drive logs, system logs, bus signals, etc. to determine test status. Any issues will be documented as they occur, and test results and status will be communicated to the team. The technician is also expected to read and understand product specifications, and provide input to test schedules.
Candidates must have a working knowledge of Windows and UNIX / Linux system environments. This system knowledge must include the ability to setup complex computer systems and understand system error logs. Experience with Perl or general scripting languages would be useful, but not required. Demonstrated business communications skills (verbal and written) are required.
