We deliver the possibilities of data.  YOU define what’s possible.

The WDC Enterprise System Integration Group is seeking a system integration engineer to work in our System Integration Test (SIT) Lab located in Rochester, MN.  The SIT Lab is a dynamic environment where test engineers work closely with drive development engineers and our customers’ engineers during the process of bringing a drive to market.  The SIT Lab supports the full WDC hard disk and solid state drive lines as well as WDC-branded products.

This is a technical position for a team which verifies the compatibility of enterprise (server) drives in our customers’ operating environments.  System integration engineers work closely with the product lead engineer, development engineers, and our customers’ engineers to ensure successful bring-up, development, and verification of the product.  System integration engineers are responsible for configuring the drives and systems for test, then monitoring and analyzing drive logs, system logs, bus signals, etc. to determine test status.  Problems will be isolated, analyzed, and documented as they occur; this may require development of unique test scripts to exercise the drive and system in the area of problem occurrence.  Responsibilities also include the creation of test schedules, writing reports, and communicating written and verbal status.

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Organization and the ability to plan ahead
  • Comfortable with speaking about technical topics with customers and or internal entities
