Sr. Director, Business Transformation Operations & Execution

This position manages the personnel and activities necessary to support the company’s transformation initiatives. This includes the delivery of transformation initiatives, developing Next Generation project management tool sets and creating and managing a Human Change Management Center of Excellence.

Leading this diverse group of activities requires senior leadership influence, the ability to do process design and strategy, with a hands-on management style to oversee the team that is responsible for tactical execution. Broad interaction with all levels of the business is necessary.  

This role includes the application (and in some cases the development) of governance processes, project planning and control processes, project management tools, risks and issues management, as well as change management. This position ensures smooth execution of the projects; drives executive alignment and serves as overall champion for delivering project objectives; designing governance and applying PMO policies and practices. This role reports to the CIO.

Responsibility: Span of Control: 3 Direct Reports

  • Manages portfolio view of BTOE-designated projects for cross-functional alignment and dependencies; provides strategic direction and guidance as needed
  • Creates the vision and execution for next generation project management methodologies such as Agile
  • Creates and manages a Human Change Management Center of Excellence where Change Leads are shared across initiatives utilizing standard processes and practices throughout the organization
  • Acts as a change agent throughout the organization driving innovation and transformation
  • Reports on the overall health of the BTOE portfolio, mitigates and/or escalates critical risks and issues as necessary
  • Oversees development of and alignment with project management practices such as planning, reporting, budgeting, risk/issue management and WDC’s SDLC methodology
  • Tracks and monitors budget and spending associated with projects and provides visibility to senior leadership
  • Maintains overall accountability for project delivery, including benefit realization, budgets, and milestones
  • Evaluates project resourcing needs and assigns project managers and other BTOE resources accordingly
  • Participates in Transformation Management Office (TMO) working group meetings to gain visibility into business case reviews, and the identification and prioritization of projects
  • Coordinates closely with the Transformation Administration group and the IT PMO team
  • Works with TMO to understand transformation demand and prioritization
  • Establishes strong relationships across both business and IT leadership; engages and aligns key stakeholders
  • Reviews monthly financial updates and approves resource plans
  • Approves governance process and criteria for evaluating and managing projects
  • Plays a key role as a visible leader throughout the enterprise leading change and delivering value

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree/MS Preferred
  • Experience in a complex, multi-function environment
  • Experience in managing a team and leading change
