Summary

A technologist working in an architecture and staging team responsible for inventing next-generation architectures and integrating advanced technologies into a variety of solid state storage products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of host and target side storage system architectures, solid state memory, error correction algorithms, signal processing, and enterprise applications
  • SW and HW rapid prototyping development skills
  • Mathematical analysis and system modeling of algorithms for flash management and data integrity
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the advanced technology teams from various engineering disciplines to provide advanced technology concepts and information transfer to development teams
  • Integration of encryption and key management systems
  • Develop innovative technologies, system designs, and new architectures to support and drive the product roadmap
  • Perform technology assessments, including competitive products, to enhance and support new and existing storage architectures
  • Design and perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to assess impact of new concepts for next-generation solid state storage products
  • Research, identify, and characterize next-generation non-volatile memories for innovative new methods for extending the life of solid state memory
  • Research and investigate new and advanced technologies
  • Publish papers, develop IP, file patents, and disseminate this information through presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate with the technical marketing team and customers to match future storage requirements to innovative concepts and architectures
  • Collaborate with a team of architects and engineers to develop new algorithm and signal processing technologies
  • Develop advanced controller architectures for maximum performance, reliability, and service life
  • Develop metadata strategies for effective system operation including fast power up, intelligent data integrity, endurance management, failure mode countermeasures, and runtime health information

Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
  • More than 15 years of related work experience in the storage industry

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to present information effectively to top management and public groups
