As an intern, you will be part of a team advancing state of the art in architecture of data storage systems. Our current areas of focus are: emerging non-volatile memories, such as PCM, ReRAM and MRAM, and their impact on CPU microarchitecture, coherence protocols and scaleout for memory-centric systems; machine learning and inference workloads as drivers of tomorrow's computer architectures; novel storage device physics  that could someday reshape the memory/storage hierarchy; quorum protocols and erasure codes for fault tolerance at scale.

We seek candidates with strong publication portfolio and proven track record of delivery in any related field of engineering or science. We value self-driven personality and the aptitude for creative tinkering and prototyping over any specific skillset. The skillsets especially valued are FPGA prototyping, design of networking or coherence protocols, and CPU microarchitecture design.   


  • Current student pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Has sufficient functional and professional experience and expertise to perform tasks/assignments of a medium to complex level within area of specialization. 
  • Assignments require analysis and recommendations for resolution of problems. 
  • May participate on cross-functional teams. 
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. 
  • Experience in FPGA prototyping, design of networking or coherence protocols, and CPU microarchitecture design.
