Spotfire Administrator

Description

  • Responsible for all aspects of Spotfire infrastructure administration. 
  • Responsible for implementing Spotfire Major, Minor and hotfix upgrades. Perform Installations and Updates, for various Spotfire software components, on new and pre- existing Spotfire environments. This includes understanding of database upgrade scripts 
  • and how to deploy them to Oracle and MS SQL Server. 
  • Responsible for working with other Spotfire Administrators across different regional sites 
  • to define and execute roadmap. Work closely with global Spotfire administration team to 
  • ensure the proper operation, user serviceability of all global Spotfire environments. 
  • Responsible for ensuring proper operation of the various Spotfire environments 
  • throughout WDC, on premise and AWS cloud environments. 
  • Work closely with Tibco support on various user and administrative centric issues. 
  • Work closely with Tibco account representatives on future Spotfire features, interests, 
  • training, and support needed/requested by the WDC Spotfire community. 
  • Maintain communication and outreach platform for Spotfire community throughout WDC 
  • Continually establish and develop support mechanisms for various Spotfire developer- 
  • centric activities. 
  • Work closely with the Big Data support team to keep Spotfire-centric user service a top 
  • priority within the organization. 
  • Responsible for documenting and maintaining global support process, FAQ, knowledge 
  • articles on corporate intranet site. 
  • Responsible for managing Spotfire Users, Groups, Library and License level permissions. 

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. 
  • 6+ years of overall professional working experience with 2 + years’ experience as a Spotfire Administrator. 
  • Must have strong analytical, multi-tasking skills and be a creative problem-solver. 
  • Must be able to execute job tasks with minimal supervision. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be a strong team player capable of working in a demanding environment. 
  • Previous experience working with Spotfire administrative tasks and concepts (assigning user privileges, Library administration; permissions system, groups, etc...) 
  • Experience performing updates (migrations; new installations; hotfix patches) and changes to a Spotfire Analytical Platform environment 
  • Experience with developing Spotfire dashboards for familiarity/communication with Spotfire developers (basic experience) 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to properly interface with the global Spotfire community (developers & consumers) 
  • Ability to write descriptive and detailed knowledgebase articles for WDC Spotfire User Community 
  • Understanding of Spotfire software components and architecture 
  • Experience working as part of an IT organization focused on user service 
  • Requires understanding of BI principles in a VLDB setting (data loading, SQL, ETL, aggregation, etc.). 
  • Requires experience with Oracle and SQL Server as transactional backend databases and familiarity with numerous data sources (Redshift, Teradata, Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server, 
  • etc.) 
  • Advanced knowledge of Spotfire components (advanced authentication mechanisms; extensions to TERR; Spotfire Client Developer SDKs) 
  • Good project management skills, and knowledge of SDLC.
