This is a Student Co-op position on a System Integration Test (SIT) Lab team that validates the mechanical robustness of solid state and hard disk drives, including the capability to meet internal engineering requirements as well as customer specific requirements in the areas of operational and non-operational shock, vibration, and acoustics.  The person will be responsible for configuring and performing tests, and will monitor and analyze drive logs, system logs, and wave forms, etc., to determine test status. Any issues will be documented as they occur, and test results and status will be communicated to the team. The student co-op is also expected to document the details of the test processes and procedures employed.  

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates should have at least a sophomore standing pursuing a BS or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Professional business communication competency, both verbal and written, is required, as is the competency with basic office technology (general PC use, email, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Candidates should be comfortable learning, via self-education, rudimentary programming and scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl, Java, etc) skills
